This book lacked substance. The characters were one dimensional and I struggled to care what happened to them. I wondered throughout the book where the "dark" part of the "dark erotica" genre label would come into play. But it never did. The "erotica" label was pretty generous also. I rated it 2 stars because it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't good.Product details

I adore this lady and everything she writes. Every book I pick up of hers I slip effortlessly into the story and before I know it I've devoured it in one sitting.
The story of Bexley and Zeke is one of lust, power, heartbreak and redemption. Both characters bring to the table different elements that compliment and destroy each other, not always in a bad way.
TL never fails to deliver a book that is sure to have a twist that is going to shock any reader. This time I must admit I didn't even see it coming, it crept up on me and threw me so far out I had to sit and think had I missed something. That is the beauty of reading one of TL'S amazing books, her hints and snippets are there but layered so deep in the plot and characters that your to comfortable you don't piece things together until the ball drops.
I've been lucky enough to read this book 3 times and each time I enjoyed it even more! Congratulations on another fantastic read TL.
The Blurb for Degrade sucked me in and I could not wait to read about Zeke, this cold hearted Alpha who takes no s*** and certainly does not do more than one time deals!!! That is until he stumbles across Bexley. Hats off to this woman she put up with way more than I ever would which made me much more invested it the story.
And very early on I understood just how cold hearted Zeke actually was and how much Bexley took and took till she couldn't take anymore!! Some people may think her weak however you've got to have some kind of balls to allow yourself to be treated in such a way.
I am a bit of a stickler for Bad Boys and Zeke was as cold and Bad as they come, how he didn't get kicked in the nuts more often is beyond me. I did not see some of the elements in this book coming which made it all the more intriguing, I read it rather quickly (you know like one of those moments where you say just one more chapter and Bam the end is there) and could not wait to see what happens next. This was a great read and now I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a little bit afraid to start Twisted the story of Alpha Aria from Degrade.
Stopped reading at 80%. I should have stopped reading much sooner than I did, I just thought it would get better based on some of the good reviews others have left. This could have been a pretty good story but I felt like the author skipped over a lot of character building. I realize Smith was leaving out some important info for suspense purposes but it was in detriment to the story because the relationship between the two main characters fell completely flat for me. I have other issues with this book but don't want to spoil it for anyone else. Oh well.
A very dark erotic tale that had me glued to reading after the Prologue! I had to know what it all meant and am thrilled with the outcome. The brief tidbit about Aria intrigues me too!
The worst part of this book is it's structure, I despised it and felt cheated out of a full story. All the love quotes were unnecessary and irrelevant to the story. Interrupting the flow of the story, then given a few pages, maybe, of how their story progressed.
The redeeming quality for this book and why I still gave it four stars (though 3.5 would be more accurate,) is based on Brexley's character. The mystery, intrigue, who her family is, her beauty, femininity and big heart made this story good. Maybe the author will do a rewrite in the future, omit all the quotes and tell a 5-star worthy story.
Still, I recommend this dark erotic tale. It was entertaining and captured my interest for a few lovely reading hours. Enjoy.
I walked into this book blind, even after I had read the blurb it doesn't really prepare you for the substance of this book. I didn't put it down. Oh T.L. you did a fine job yanking my emotions all over the place from wanting to throw my kindle against the wall to castrating Zeke and then some. I can't begin to describe Zeke, and I should be able to, she calls him the devil and I think that's pretty flipping close. He's emotionally blunted among other things, but Bexley is one tough woman. Her achilles heel is Zeke, yet she manages to pull a few rabbits out of her own hat. This book was intriguing, I didn't always like what was going on, but the story flows perfectly and there are no lapses, lags or drops. These two are fully developed and more. The plot line flows well, there isn't much backstory, you don't need it. This book happens in the here and now. It's a rollercoaster ride without a doubt... especially after the half way point. We watch a man who is truly broken and seems to lack a soul come to realize what love is, and a woman who loves deeply willing to risk her heart... but will she? Aria was great, for her grit and mettle I liked her. Her story follows this one in book two. Great read... I recommend. Nice work T.L.
Only made it 50% before I couldn't take it anymore. This story jumps from one place to the next, adding characters and information out of nowhere that don't fit. Editing is poor for spelling, grammar, and whether to use American English or British English terms and expressions. Glad I got this for free. I thought the poor reviews were anomolies, but they are not. Skip this.
If I could give nil stars I would. This would have to be one of THE most disjointed and annoying books I have read for ages. I totally bought this based and the great star reviews but honestly I do NOT understand all these 5 stars. The book was jumpy, Zeke is not Alpha, he just an a$$hole. Bexley is a wet blanket and there nothing anything can tell me differently. This is not dark, it's just an irritating, spasmodic read.
