Even with the repeal of DADT, it is not commonly known that I am gay. Living on an aircraft carrier, surrounded by so many men in such close quarters, I worry that if my sexuality is known, most of them will subscribe to the narrow thinking that I am attracted to all of them. But there is one who has caught my eye and driven my senses into overload. The problem is that he is a fellow pilot. I don't want to cause any issues in our working environment, and I don't even know if he is gay, but I am drawn to him and cannot stop thinking about him. What I wouldn't give for a stolen night together, but I long for even more than that because I am attracted to his personality, sense of humor, and strength of character as much as I am attracted to his physicality.
And then one day, his co-pilot gets sick, and I am told to fly with him. Will this time together possibly lead to something? I can't help but hope that it does.
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love Has No Boundaries" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

This is not a "fantasy" m/m romance where everyone in the military is automatically okay with gay guys, but it wasn't a harsh reality romance either. I'd call it a romantic middle ground with very realistic elements and thought processes, without depressing the crap out of the reader by writing what it is truly like for gay men in the military.The Kindle edition ended at 93% with a few advertisements and additional attachments at the end, which was nice. A couple of typos but nothing overwhelming that would make reading it suck.
This is a well written short story with likeable characters, very little conflict and an HEA.I enjoyed it very much and would consider reading more from this author.

It's short but cute! Well written, beautiful characters and a great topic. I fell in love with military (naval) romance when I first read Wingmen by Ensen Case, this story reminded me a lot of that book. I would love to read more stories in this genre.
A great short story.
It was definitely an awwww ending - it made me smile and for a novella had enough detail to make it a good fast read
The books I have read give you hope in Love and people.hoping maybe one day, When loving a person does not have to be frightening, just loving. No matter what your sexual orientation is.
I am not a fan of short-stories, they're snapshots and therefore have no past or future. This one was interesting, but the character I liked best is one of the secondaries. Too bad that the character was sacrificed because of the length of the story.
Here's a M/M story about frustration and love. Well written, engaging, not dirty or filthy, but mildly homoric. The ending is wonderful and endearing. This easy read is a brief look into DADT that affected many of our service people. It does not dwell or nor proselytize on the issue, but the plot is wound around the feelings of some of those who experienced it. I enjoyed the gentle handling of the subject and the eventual hopeful relationship at the end.
See? It really IS possible to have character development, likeable characters, and a good storyline in less than 100 pages! And it’s not overly saccharine sweet or overloaded with machismo just because they’re in the military. Davey & Chuck are perfect for each other, and Gio is the perfect best friend. I have no problem with the fact that there is very little angst and/or drama. I enjoyed absolutely everything about this story from beginning to end, and was happy with the epilogue. Now I want to check out other books by this author, especially if there’s a story out there for Gio and Alex.
